Checkout & Reservation

ETL provides Temporary Equipment Checkout and Lab Reservations.

  • The expectations for return (Temporary Checkout) of the laptops and other equipment is 2 weeks. NOTE: Restricted to COE faculty and staff.
  • Please bring your UIC ID card for the equipment checkout.
  • You are responsible for returning the laptop/equipment when requested, and in the same condition that it was received.
  • If the laptop or other equipment is lost or stolen, it is your responsibility to report the loss or theft immediately to the UIC Police at (312) 996-2830 and provide ETL with the case number.
  • Students requiring temporary or loaner computer can contact Technology Solutions at lts@uic.edu or Call  at 312-413-0003.

Room 3015 – Defense Room:

  • Equipped with Windows PC, wireless mics, document camera and podium. Technology in the room supports video conference.

Room 3312 – Conference Room:

  • Equipped with Windows PC, camera and microphones. This room supports video conference and lecture capture for the blackboard.

Room 3233 – Commons Room:

  • Equipped with Windows PC and monitor, it supports wireless display for mobile devices.

Room 3427 – Classroom:

  • Bring your own device, wireless mics, projector, camera and a podium. This room supports video conference and lecture capture.

Room 1419 – Classroom:

  • Bring your own device, LCD display, camera, microphone & supports lecture capture.

Room 1433 – Classroom:

  • Bring your own device, LCD display, camera, microphone & supports lecture capture.

Room L268 – Reading Clinic:

  • Equipped with Windows PC, podium, camera, microphone and a projector, and it also supports lecture capture.
  • For reading clinic reservations, please contact the dean’s office.

For classes, ETL has two large projectors available in the computer lab. These are connected to a separate Windows computer on the podium. There are separate remotes provided to turn each projector on/off. ETL staff is available to demonstrate for instructors.

 

Computers:

  • The ETL lab is equipped with both PCs and Macs for students, faculty, and staff to use. Users may print or scan documents and browse the internet.

Printing & Scanning:

  • The lab also reserves two computers for users that wish to scan their documents.
  • Printing is available ONLY for students, faculty, and staff in the college of education. All other users are asked to print in the computer lab in the basement (ETMSW L278) or at any ACCC C-Stop.

3D Printing:

  • The lab is currently equipment with two 3D printers. The 3D printer can print 3D models of one color from a selection of several colors.
  • Request ETL to print your 3D model by asking any ETL staff or send us a request.
  • This service is available for College of Education students.

Other Classroom Resources:

  • ETL is setup to use lecture capture with the Blackboard.
  • The ETL has one Smartboard for use as a teaching resource.

  • Video recorders – palm sized with wireless mics (Kodak Zi8, Kodak Zi12) to regular handy-cam ( Samsung HMX F80)
